GDPR Consent Policy
This GDPR Consent Policy describes how EVsBuzz.com obtains, records, refreshes and honours consent for cookies and personal-data processing required by the EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679), the UK GDPR, the Swiss FADP, the ePrivacy Directive, the EU User Consent Policy that Google publishers must follow, and equivalent rules in other jurisdictions. It supplements our Privacy Policy and our Cookie Policy.
1. When this policy applies
This policy applies whenever EVsBuzz.com processes personal data about a visitor located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom or Switzerland, or whenever a visitor from any other jurisdiction is offered the same consent experience.
2. Our consent management platform (CMP)
We use a Google-certified IAB Europe Transparency & Consent Framework (TCF v2) Consent Management Platform that integrates with Google AdSense, Google Ad Manager and our other advertising partners. The CMP collects, stores and transmits your consent signal as the IAB TC string and, where applicable, as Google’s “additional consent” signal (AC string).
3. What we ask consent for
| Purpose | Legal basis | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly-necessary cookies | Legitimate interest / contract | Security, load-balancing, consent state |
| Functional / preference cookies | Consent (where required) | Dark mode, region, language |
| Analytics | Consent (in EEA/UK) | Google Analytics 4 |
| Personalised advertising | Consent (in EEA/UK) | Google AdSense, Google Ad Manager, third-party SSPs, retargeting |
| Non-personalised advertising | Legitimate interest where permitted | Contextual ads without behavioural profiling |
4. How consent is requested
- On your first visit, a clear and balanced consent notice appears at the top or bottom of the screen.
- The notice provides equally prominent Accept All, Reject All and Manage / Customise options.
- Consent is not pre-ticked. No non-essential cookies are set before you act.
- The CMP records your choice, the purposes and the vendors you agreed to, and the date and time.
- You can re-open the preference centre at any time using the “Cookie Settings” link in the footer.
5. Children
EVsBuzz.com is not directed at children. In the EEA we treat the age of digital consent as 16 by default, subject to lower national ages set by individual Member States. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children below the applicable age without verified parental consent.
6. Withdrawing or changing consent
You can withdraw or change consent at any time, with the same ease as giving it, through the “Cookie Settings” link in the footer. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal but stops further non-essential processing.
7. Google EU User Consent Policy
Where you use products such as Google AdSense and Google Ad Manager in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, the Google EU User Consent Policy requires us to obtain end-user consent for the use of cookies and for the collection, sharing and use of personal data for personalised advertising. We obtain and pass that consent to Google through the TCF / AC signals described above.
8. International transfers
Some of our ad-tech and analytics partners are based outside the EEA/UK. Where personal data is transferred outside, we rely on adequacy decisions, EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), UK International Data Transfer Addendum or other legally recognised mechanism. See our Privacy Policy for details.
9. Your GDPR rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and port your personal data; to object to processing based on legitimate interests; and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. Contact privacy@evsbuzz.com to exercise these rights.
10. US state privacy laws
Where you visit from California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah and similar jurisdictions, we recognise the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as an opt-out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. We also honour explicit opt-outs submitted through the CMP.
11. India — Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023
For Indian readers, processing of personal data is governed by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDP Act). The CMP provides the notice and choice required by the Act. See our Privacy Policy for the rights of Data Principals and the duties of EVsBuzz.com as a Data Fiduciary.
12. Record-keeping
Consent records (purposes, vendors, time-stamp, TC string) are kept by the CMP for as long as required to demonstrate compliance and not less than the period required by applicable law.
